Lara Sims

A visionary leader with 25+ years progressive experience managing health and safety strategies for large-scale mining operations across the US. She is devoted to preparing leaders, training teams, mitigating risk, solving problems, and preventing injury and loss, with a passionate philosophy that incidents are avoidable.
Ms. Sims started her career in mining as a summer student and, over the past 28 years, has been focused on growing into a well-respected health and safety professional. As a full-time equipment operator, Ms. Sims’ high-impact contributions led to her obtaining ISO14001 & OHSAS18001 certifications.
Of notable influence during her career, she is credited for creating a comprehensive resource to systemize and organize training specialties and implemented a system to ensure that staff certifications are kept up to date. She has led multiple mine rescue teams, health and safety teams, and summer intern programs throughout her career.
Lara earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1995. In 2010, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Safety Sciences which launched her lifelong career path of health and safety.
Today, Ms. Sims successfully owns and operates Sims 360 Health and Safety Solutions LLC where she proudly maintains a diverse client portfolio across the West and Southwest.
In her free time, Ms. Sims loves to stay involved by donating and volunteering at several local organizations. She enjoys traveling and spending time at her family ranch in Wyoming or getting away to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan when she can. She has two
dogs, Drago and Bolero, who are her trusty side kicks in all her personal and professional adventures.
